Diaoyutai(Fishing Terrace) Statehouse is situated at Sanhe Road in Haidian District of Beijing. In Jin Dynasty(1279 BCE), there has already the notion of “Gudiaotai(Ancient Fishing Terrace)”, as well as “Wanliutang(House of Ten-Thousands of Willows)” during the beginning of Yuan Dynasty(1271 BCE).
The current Chinese architectures in Diaoyutai Statehouse date back to Tsing Dynasty(1376 BCE), when Qianlong Emperor inscribed ”Diaoyutai(Fishing Terrace)”. In 1959, the Diaoyutai Statehouse had been fi nished as the main venue for the hosting of multicultural governmental visitors for foreign aff airs.
After 1978, Diaoyutai statehouse had been under large scale reconstruction. The scenic spots for the East gate, Yangyuanzhai(Nurturing Source Pavilion), as well as two Presidential Houses are the main amenities inside the statehouse. The original Taihu Lake stone at the east gate had been redesigned and rebuilt into a currently 9 metre tall Obstructive Rockery Scenery. It used the white Water-Washed Stone from Changping District of Beijing.
Yangyuanzhai(Nurturing Source Pavilion) is a signifi cant venue for national banquet. Therefore it had been added a Pairing Scenery of Water-Fall and Rockery Mountain, formulating a typical Chinese traditional landscape composition. The number 12 and 18 Presidential House were added exterior gardens, emphasizing the natural Shanshui(Rockery and Watery Landscape) style.
